The EC project EUTEMPE-RX has created a course programme for medical physicists who want to advance their knowledge, skills and competences in diagnostic and interventional radiology (D&IR). The programme groups 12 new modules at the medical expert (MPE) level, consisting of an online phase that can be completed from at home and a face-to-face phase (3-6 days) in different European locations.
The course modules are free of charge, as we are funded by the EC, but travel, hotel and meals need to be covered by the participants themselves. The course program has started with Module 1 on the 17th of December 2014 and the online phase of the first module is already well under way (registration for this module has been closed). Now it is high time to register for Module 2, or for any of the other remaining modules. Deadline for application for Module 2 is the 12th of February 2015.
Module 2 is entitled ‘Radiation biology for medical physicists in radiology’ and is organized by Andrea Ottolenghi in the University of Pavia, Italy. This module aims to help the future MPE in D&IR acquire the knowledge, the skills and the competences necessary for a thorough understanding of the biological response of humans to radiation exposure as well as of the radiobiological basis for estimating subsequent risks. Like all modules it consists of an online and a face-to-face phase. The online phase starts the 20th of February. The face-to-face phase takes place in Pavia, Italy, from 13-18 April 2015, and ends with an (optional) examination on the last day. Unique to Pavia is that some free lodging is available for 15 participants.
More information about the content and organization of this module is available in the flyer that has been added to this mail. You can also visit the website and review the extended abstract and the module approval form for more detailed information: http://www.eutempe-rx.eu/index.php/ct-menu-item-3/14-sample-data-articles/83-course-2.
This course will be accredited by EFOMP.
To apply for Module 2 (or any other Module(s)) you have to complete the enrolment form and add your CV. A motivational letter and a letter of recommendation are optional and can help you strengthen your application. The maximal number of participants is 30, a higher number can be considered by the module leader. For more general information about the project, please visit the website www.eutempe-rx.eu. Feel free to forward this message to your network.
On behalf of prof Andrea Ottolenghi and his team, i hope we can welcome you or your co-workers in Pavia soon!
